The Pacific Dogwood (Cornus nuttallii)
prefers the shade and humidity found under a canopy of
conifers such as Douglas fir. The large white bracts stand
out brilliantly and are often mistaken for flowers. The
actual flowers are tiny and clustered in a head surrounded
by the bracts.
