SHOOTING STAR & IRIS

The Shooting Star (Dodecatheon hendersonii) grows in grassy meadows and forest openings. The Yellow Flowered Iris (Iris chrysophylla) can be found interspersed in these openings and stands less than eight inches tall. It is one of the less colorful species in a genus whose name (Iris) means "rainbow" in Greek.
